This is my third Visual Assignment – Minimalist TV Poster. I chose to do The United States of Tara because its one of my favorite shows and did not get picked up for a fourth season
. But my simple homage to the show demonstrates the main plot line which follows Tara Greggor a Kansas housewife who suffers from multiple personality disorder. To create this poster I copied an image of paper dolls and filled them with white paint in FotoFlexer. I then transfered the image to Gimp and laid the dolls atop a blue background and added type that mimicked the show’s font. Using a string of identical paper dolls gives the message that all of Tara’s personalities are a part of her and essential are reflections of her.
Here is the link to the assignment if you wish to make your own poster.

This is awesome, Rachel! That is the essence of this assignment is to come up with a shape or simple object that serves as a metaphor for the plot- and paper dolls are a genius choice.
